Beginner's guide to Kardel Sharpeye

True Venom
January 25, 2013

Introduction

Sniper is one of the lowest health hard carry in the game. His great aiming allows him to shoot enemies without missing an inch and before they can even get close to him. Most of us either never used anything that needs to aim to kill, but even though some can,no one is a better sniper then Kardel Sharpeye.

Bio

Kardel Sharpeye was born deep in the mountainous valleys of Knollen where, since time immemorial, the folk have survived by hunting the strange, cliff-dwelling steepstalkers above their villagekilling them from a distance and collecting their carcasses where they fell. Sharpeye was among the best of these strange folk for whom projectile weapons are but another appendage, and to shoot is as natural as to touch.

On his day of summoning, when he was to gain full standing in his village, Sharpeye took the ancient test: a single shot from the valley floor to strike a beast down from the cliffs. To miss was to be dishonored. With his entire village standing vigil, Sharpeye took his shot. A steepstalker fell; the crowd cheered. But when the carcass was collected, the village grew silent, for the elders found that the bullet had pierced its glittering central eye then fallen to be clenched in the steepstalker's mandibles. This ominous sign was the literal opening of a dark prophecy, foretelling both greatness and exile for the gunman who made such a shot. Sharpeye the Sniper was thus, by his own skill, condemned to make his way apart from his peopleand unwelcome back among them until he has fulfilled the remainder of the prophecy by attaining legendary stature on a field of battle.

Items

Everyone usually buys a tango in the beginning and a healing salve.Due to your squishiness, you need a blade mail to protect your self from ganks, team fights, etc.Though its not that important, you should buy it when you have nothing else to spend on.The shadow blade is what almost every good sniper buys and the sange and yasha you will need it for the agility and strength. The black king bar is to also protect yourself from spells and the eye of skadi lets you hit your enemy more times before he starts to chase you.And if you really are luxurious,I suggest you buy aghanim's scepter first followed by a abyssal blade.

Skills

Shrapnelis what almost every sniper upgrades last.Even the stats are more important than the Shrapnel. So you would like to max out take aim and headshot first. So that you can harass better. You should always upgrade your assassinate as fast as you can.The reason is because each upgrade increases quite a lot of damage and cooldown(especially the cooldown.I mean we all want lower cooldown for our ultimates right?).You should use assassinate only when you are far away(like you know it).If some guy is just waiting outside your base for you to come out, just plant your assassinate on him IN your base. It's because you'll have the mana regeneration and you do not get killed by the guy. Also whatever you do even if you dont follow the guide,ALWAYS harass the enemies when you have the chance. When the guy is trying to go near your creeps, just harass him non-stop and don't just stand there like an idiot doing nothing.I think it's better to harass than get last hits. But don't get too into harassing and go to the enemies towers and get shot by it while hitting the enemy.

Pros / Cons

Pros

-Has incredible range

-Very good at harassing

-Ultimate has a very low cooldwon

-Ultimate does a lot of damage

-Great with juggernaut

-Good side laner as well as mid laner

-Advantage against enemies with slow movement speed

Cons

-Incredibly squishy

-Very vulnerable to nukers

-Very low attack damage

-Sucks against teamplar assassin

-Always targeted by enemies

Very vulnerable to ganks

Creeping / Jungling

Tip:Never jungle when playing sniper.Cause you may actually die against jungle creeps.Well, you may not die but you will be very vulnerable after you finish jungling and then you'll be a greater target to enemies.

Creeping is fine but just remember to harass and last hit.Sniper is a bit different from the other hard carries. He is a hard carry with such low health and he doesn't stick to his lane a lot.He usually goes out to gank at about lvl 11 or so.

Team Work

Sniper's friends

Juggernaut,Windrunner,Tidehunter, and almost every other hero that has a slow and a stun. But what I thin that has the best combo is juggernaut.Juggernaut can use his ultimate and if his ultimate doesn't kil the enemy,Sniper can easily pull out his assassinate and finish off the hero.

Sniper's foes

All nukers, burst damage heroes and his greatest enemy:Lanaya the templar assassin. The reason why I stated templar ***sassin is because she can block your assassinate and even if she needs the skill to be recharged, she can use one of her skills that lets her go invisible. Then when you just walk past her, shell strike out of her invisibility and spam her skills. At the end you'll have to respawn and get killed again.

Fighting

Always stick with your team wherever they go.because if you don't,the enemy will sneak up on you and get some levels. When there is a gank, follow your team. When there is a teamfight, help your team. When there is a push, join your team.Just make sure you're not found out.
