So me and my friends play LoL right now and were thinking of trying dota 2. We're still pretty new to these types of games but from my understanding the most common strategy seems to be to have 1 top( typically a bruiser), 1 mid (typically ap carry), 2 bot (ad carry, and a support that lets the carry get all the last hits), and 1 jungler that helps with ganks. so is this the same with dota 2 or is it different?
1 Top (Carry who needs a lot of farm, and can handle a solo lane e.g. broodmother)
1 Mid (Carry who needs a lot of farm aswell and can do ganks e.g. viper, rexxar, etc.)
3 bot ( 2x support who harras the enemy team and deny the creeps, also help the 1x carry farm)
or
1 Top (same as above)
1 Mid (save as above)
2 Bot ( carry + support)
1 Jungler (this guy gets A LOT OF FARM, that's why you must stop him, in pub games, a jungler like lifestealer, prophet or lycanthrope get a lot of farm and win the game. also he as to gank sometimes)
Also, some people often go 3 top, 2 mid, 1 bot, watch some pro streams at http://www.joindota.com
On this site, you can see tournaments, championships, a lot of pro teams as Na'vi, Moscow Five, etc.
Ehhh
I disagree with an above post. But that's just goes to show how versatile dota is over lol.
Say we play Radiant (south-west)
Then top would be a suicide lane, so heroese that can take care of themselves and are annoying must go there (Silencer, Viper)
Mid is a ganking hero, as he is closest to both lanes (Pudge, BS)
Bot is... well, yeah carry w/ or w/out sup depending on the jungler.
Dota 2 is a multiplayer Action RTS game. It began as a user-made modification for Warcraft 3 and has grown into one of the most played online games in the world. Dota 2 is currently open for early access and a full release is expected in 2013 for PC and Mac.
