I think you have never been saved by Shallow Grave in lane.
Wanna wreck a lane with him? go 3-1-1-1 Build . They will commit seppuku.

the thing is that if you were saved by that grave means you game them the opportunity to almost kill you. when i think a really strong laning partner i imagine getting kills as early as level 2 or 3, or harassing so much that your opponent(s) cant come into the lane.
definately not level 6, ultimates on supports have nothing to do with strong laning presence.

Agreed on that ultimate discourse. I think even you will admit that for a level 2-3 klls, you need a lane partner having a stun. Imagine a Spectre, will she ever do that?.I mean sure if you want to lane with carries who have good lane presence your points hold merit. Wraith King Jakiro is almost a kill lane.Pair Vengeful Spirit with Juggernaut and that is first blood.

The post read safelane support for farming carries, so i suggested accordingly. But yeah i agree on most of your points given a friend and such you would really like to wreck the lane and dazzle would atleast need level4

One thing: when that mid rotates or a roamer comes by, you will wish you had Shallow Grave ;giving them a chance is not really an arguement then.

In my opinion:

Some supports got various nerfs, while he is getting buffed with each patch.
Even though game is not so concentrated on pushing early, he can provide great early push to make space for your carry and gain better control over the map.
He has a stun that is relevant in each stage of the game, even more important in the late game.
He requires absolutely no farm and only some levels to be effective.
Two of his skills reduces attack speed, which is very important in late game.
He is a very good teamfighter, also great at taking or defending Roshan.

On Reddit I saw a quote of Puppey, who stated, that there are currently 3 strongest heroes in "pro meta": Ogre Magi, Necrophos and Jakiro.

Hmmm....You sure put some convincing factors in the hypotheses .
Never really got around to thinking he is good at Rosh fights.
And yes , call me idiot i just checked that Liquid Fire reduces AS. Man, i just thought it was a nuke.
Ok!! Gonna go a play Jakiro

He is really picked a lot lately(as of 6.82 atleast)
Can anyone tell me what happened that Jakiro became a core support?

well it doesnt have to be a killing lane, if im playing a spectre or medusa or any carry with bad laning presence i will want a lich above any other hero for sure. ofcourse its assuming that these are low pub duallanes, since if you run a trilane it should just defeat any lane with less heroes apart from specialised agressibe lanes with heroes like abbadon and undying.

If your carry tends to be more aggressive ( Huskar, Slardar etc.) Omni is a great support.
If you need a babysitter (Dusa, Spectre etc.) Dazzle, Io, and Lich are great supports.
If you want killing potential (Razor, Viper, etc.) Vengful, Skywrath, Ogre, and EShaker are great supports.

I really like Lich, the only time he's bad is against kill lanes and pushers (he struggles to stop people going on his carry), and obviously drawing back the lane is bad if they want to push early. Otherwise he's great for both lane control and harassment, decent mid-late presence with Frost Armor and Chain Frost.

Jakiro is a good, solid support. He's not great at anything, but he's decent in trilanes, above average harassment/semi-jungle/teamfight, and he's got both an AOE stun and slow/nuke. Doesn't particularly need levels, they just help. Good health and mana pools, doesn't have particularly expensive/low CD spells that require a lot of regen. Doesn't particularly need equipment, he's fine with just boots - Veil of Discord, Mekansm, Force Staff or Arcane Boots are all nice but not "required".

His only real weakness is quite poor mobility, and that your positioning/reading of the game have to be reasonably good to land your powers to maximum effect.

This is what i encountered on my first game as jakiro. You really need positioning and the instinct on when to throw down his ulti.
Went 4 -5-21 in a private lobby. Didnt ward though.

His ulti doesn't matter a lot to him tbh. It's like, even with great positioning and timing it's very hard to make it a fight winning one. It's great in combination with Eul's Scepter of Divinity and Ice Path since you can set both up and get a lot of garunteed tick damage. I think Blink Dagger -> Eul's Scepter of Divinity is one of the most common item builds on him, and is so good for pick-offs.

Liquid Fire is probably the reason he's seen a surge in usage. Simply because it makes taking towers so much easier with the tick damage, and the attack slow on the Towers. You deal like 115~ tower damage per usage at level 4, and it has a 4 second cooldown, with no mana cost. It also makes him a fantastic zoner. Like him and a Skywrath Mage will essentially auto force any offlaner out of lane due to the harrass.

It's the reason why he sees usage as both a support and a core (Though the later less so since 6.82 dropped). Well, Liquid Fire was at least why he first got picked up post TI4 (Since like Virtus Pro I think? Just dominate for a few weeks with Jakiro, Skywrath Mage and Bristleback. It was arguably the kick start of the massive amounts of push as well).

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.
