DOTAFire :: DotA 2 Builds & Guides for Hero Strategy

Okay, so I don't normally make blog posts and the like, or really socialize much on here but hey DOTAfire people are nice, so I thought I'd be a little more open than normal.

So I've been playing and following this wonderful game of ours for a little over a year now (How time flies), and it's been arguably the best gaming experience of my life.

Now due to time constraints from having to balance a life with DOTA, I don't play that much, and when I do play I usually use the same few supports, since I'm at the stage of pubs where good supports are impossible to come by, and where being the teams selfless ward *****, and actually having plenty of disables is enough to help win more games than I by-rights should. And it's effective, I play a few games a week, and usually win them, and have a good win-rate whilst doing so.

And yet recently... It's been less satisfying than normal. My hero pool is feeling stale, and my mechanics are feeling a little more subpar than normal as a result, because I'm rarely tested on them. I know my role, and what I normally have to do, and I usually succeed at doing so. And lately that has been boring me.

So I decided I am going to kill several birds with a handful of stones. I'm going to change up my hero pool, play core a few more times, and improve mechanically. I'll start improving my micro in particular with stuff like (Because my micro is laughably bad. My cat can probably micro better than me). Oh and I'm also going to attempt to learn how .

Essentially I want to bring some of the flair back into my DOTA by improving as an all around player, rather than remain an only passable support.

So whilst not really thought provoking, and I'm sure nobody will really care much, I just thought it would be nice to talk about my ambitions with the game for once.

When I was starting the game, I found that was an easy hero to get into after going mostly support and initiator roles. He's an insanely fun, brutally aggressive ganker that also has a built-in guide on what you should be doing at any point in the game:

1) Is it night time? Yes--> Go kill someone, you're a badass. No--> Go farm somewhere so you can be even MORE badass when night comes.

is also often played as a solo mid hero, so you'll be able to get used to all the intricacies of that position as well. It can be hard to get last hits if you're against a ranged hero who knows what they're doing, but once night hits you should be able to make up for lost time with a kill or three. In games where I've done insanely well and grabbed a quick , I've dived past tier one, two, and three towers all at once to secure a kill, then goten away scott free. It can be a rush! It can also blow up in your face, but it's fun so who cares. XD

You have my thumbs too! I've been on that road recently, I'm a full suport but from time to time I try a core that I find fun. It's worth it. And the more roles you play, the better you play as a whole even in your usual role. Good luck!

It can be nice to change up once in a while - add new heroes, roles etc. It's good for your all round game. Try some really aggressive gankers, it tends to be fun even when you lose - not sure I've ever had a truly unejoyable game as :)
