This post provides tips about how to improve your skill level in DOTA 2. This might be useful for new players, also good players can learn tips and skills for to pay attention more. New players have 2 big problems. It is not PUDGE and RIKI, but inattention and ignorance. You die often until you know all items and skills of heroes. To get better at dota 2 you should be able to know all factors that can affect to your decision in the game. The first thing to talk about is items of enemy heroes. Try to make habit to look enemy inventory all the time.
Often people forget about this. I think you saw in the game when riki or any other invisible heroes died foolishly near sentry ward or gem because of inattention to enemy inventory or when lina casts her ulti to Linken's Sphere . Additionally there are lots of things happened in dota 2 which changed the outcome of the fight.
The second thing to mention is to look enemy heroes mana pool, cd of spells. When there is wraith king farming in the jungle, look his mana pool and if his mana less than 160 you can kill him knowing that he does not have reincarnation. The other example for this is to know cooldawn of Enigma's blackhole. If you know when blackhole was used last time, you can easily fight without any fear. The also important tip is to know enemy heroes spells and their damage. Can they kill you with them?T Most players forget about when playing for example for phantom assasin with full HP you can easily die in 2-3 seconds by lion ulti and etc. So do not be lazy to calculate how many damage can they make before fight with them. Also you need to know what kind of spells they can make ( pure, magic, physical) . The other thing to know is you can not break tp with silence.
Many people ignore map awareness and region of vision. This is not only helpful to be safe, but also to know when enemy team went to rosh. If enemy team picked Doom,Enigma for example, and you do not see him on the map, that means he is farming in the jungle. You can gank easily to not give him farm.
As you can see skill level depends on these detailed factors to outplay the enemy team. To have ability to know all these details in your mind is called the skill.
