Hey guys

I've played dota alot (2198hours), i've read alot of guides watched alot of videos of specific heroes especially after I failed with that hero, to learn, but I cant get out of the **** mmr tier. I'm pending around 2800-3100 and people are just so damn stupid. From time to time I get teamed up with people that actually understands dota ofc. I can play play all heroes decent, my favorite hero is Magnus just because of the awesome combos you can do with him. But when I play allpick for example, people just pick heroes that have no synergy together or no big gamechanging ulties. So basically they pick rightclick-heroes with no game presence til lategame. I often pick a support in those cases to even it out, but sometimes i lose my temper and picks like them.

I'll give u one example of the bad games I tend to be forced into. I was captain in cptmode, and i picked, Rhasta, Disrutor, Doom, Spectre and OD against Invoker, Omni, Tiny, IO and Undying. Start is going good, we went trilane safe, OD mid and DOOM offlane. Undying kills spectre, that are just plainstupid and I kill Undying after that. Then it goes bananas. Spectre going top, gimping DOOMs lvls, starting roaming mid and just feeds. Guess what, we lost game and people starting blaming me for picks. Im tired of it...

I haven't played dota half as long as you, but I can share the pain in having bad teammates. There's a reason I rarely play by myself anymore. I player solo matchmaking a couple of days ago, because I figured it would be okay. First game I had trolls, Beastmaster Hawk and Tiny Toss into trees, you get where this is going. The second my team was filled with a load of flamers who were blaming me (the support, figures) for all of their problems.

As for your captains mode adventure, that is just stupid. For one thing they should've been talking to you about picks and bans, not just leaving you up to it and then flaming you about it afterwards. Secondly I have played with some people before that did what that spectre did, they came mid when I was mid, and starting sapping all the exp so I was behind of the other mid laner. No they were not ganking, they were sitting in the lane and taking last hits and dying.

Anyway, I feel for you, I have experienced many bad things while playing dota, I usually always play with at least one friend now.

Hope you get out of that tier and find yourself some good games :)

Yea I would like to team up with people, but pubs isnt the right place to "hook" up :D, hopefully with people that actually understands different combos and strategys and dont see the heroes as 1. You wont get godlike with PA if you dont have a good team behind you, as simple as that.

It's difficult to know what to suggest - many folks say "play mid, pick an impactful hero and run the game"...but it can be difficult if there's already somebody on your team who insists on going mid, the picks are completely wrong, or your team just fails elsewhere!

If you'd like, find yourself on Dotabuff and post up a few games here that you'd like looking at - ideally not ones where you stomped or the team was completely hammered, but ones which you think fairly reflect your typical play/role and maybe could have swung on a few plays. Ideally something not too long either! :). I'll have a look and see if I can suggest anything that might help you...

I had a quick browse through those games and decided they were a bit too "stompy" - you'd obviously done well from the stats, and I think there's less to learn there. So I looked at this one instead:

1) Ok the lanes were awful and the CM clueless (no cour, no wards).

2) You were obviously annoyed (?), and left CM to die and went out of XP range. People might be dumb, but you've got to try and work with your team mates and get what you can from them - the other team made some equally bad decisions, and you could have turned this around.

3) Due to roaming/wandering about you were massively underfarmed and underlevelled by 5 mins (about 2 last hits, level 2). Missed an easy kill on their mid by rushing it.

Didn't watch too much more because this probably wasn't a great example, but these games ALL count towards your MMR, whether you get on with your team or not. Try to play your best even when things don't start off on the right foot.

To balance it out, I watched this one too. This time you pick a support as it's obviously what your team needs - good choice.

However, you were REALLY slow out of the respawn, and that meant you went to ward very late - no pull camp blocks, and you warded exactly where the enemy already had vision - tbh any half decent team would have dewarded you instantly. It also meant it wasn't until 1:10 you actually reached the safe lane, and that your hard carry had been unable to farm until then due to their dual lane. You also skilled something immediately, which there's no need to do - wait to put your first level in something until you know what you'll need.

In lane, you were ok (going for denies, letting your carry LH), but your positioning was frequently poor (try to stay near the tower side of your lane) and you wasted a lot of health and mana to no great effect (e.g. Glimpse on Anti-Mage when you were under the tower and there was no way he could dive it). Unfortunately, your Pudge also couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

You pulled the lane when the wave was already close to your tower, and they had a catapult - not good. This swung the lane so heavily it ended up near to their tower, where you were exposed and your carry couldn't farm. A little later there was some movement from both teams - but you had no mana to do anything or help in anyway - buy yourself some consumables, you had the gold. Again, poor positioning got you killed shortly after, and your carry died too (not really your fault).

You were doing poor things like spamming low level Thunder Strike on their Zeus when you had no consumables, and he was sitting on a set of Tango and a few Bottle charges - consider the risk/reward of your actions in situations like this.

Ok...that seems enough already! I'm sorry to be so negative, you were maybe having bad games, and no doubt you did some good things in that game too because you ended up 2/5/19, which is nice for a support. However...I would say looking at this that you have some fundamentals you need to work on if you want to move up:

- Try not to get too annoyed with your team, even if they're being idiots. Still try to play correctly despite them - view this as good practice, if you let yourself slip into bad habits, they'll come back to haunt the rest of your game.

- Judge the situation more carefully, especially as a support you don't have mana to waste, and need to carefully consider what will benefit you, and what won't.

- Buy consumables when you need them, especially early on.

- Your basic starting items were ok, but try to include some Iron Branches as you go to help your stats.

Hope this helps!
