Hi there, i'm sorry if there's a post explaining this all, but i searched, and couldn't find it :S
I wanted to do a guide for sniper, but i don't have any idea how to make the code for the standard thing. I already found this tips but i can't found how to use the items choice stuff (items icons and those "arrows" that point the build direction) and the abilities thing, and basically everything..
i thought that there would be a guide with the standard layout and everything, but i can't find it.
I would like to make a guide, trying to help the new players and stuff, but i'm feeling constricted :(

any indications please!
thanks

Just go to create new guide it's very self explanatory and you do not need to do much to enable the types of things you are talking about. I'm sure after you open it you will find it easier than expected :)

No sir. no offense but that's not as easy as you write. when i started to create a guide here 4 d very 1st time, i'm confused about how to insert images of dota heroes, skills, and items with names just like what I saw on published guides. i lately discovered it when i quote the guides. i learn my self that in order to do them, i should have put two close and open brackets on the name of the hero, item, skill.

so, in order to to output this: Silencer
u have to input this:
[[
Silencer
]]

(no enter keys)

Code:
[[manta style]] [[doom bringer]] [center]testing it out[/center]

Manta Style
doom bringer

testing it out

This is the basic stuff, you should be able to make a decent guide with it, but if anyone has some more info on about how this guide : FML-Face,Meet Lanaya was formatted, let us know.

I think that's something we'd all like hearing about.
I have done all I can to show you the ways of Chaos.

You could use my Making a Guide Guide...

Ah, I see why you don't: http://www.dotafire.com/dota-2/build/making-a-guide-101506

That link, of course, leads no where. The correct link should be:

http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/making-a-guide-101506

Whilst the guide is written with League of Legends references, most, if not all, of the coding applies for DotaFire.

Hope this helps :3

If I understand correctly, you want to know how to create item and skill builds, right?

Look at my guide - http://www.dotafire.com/dota-2/guide/ftw-xin-the-ember-spirit-wip-6-81-8325
If you start editing your guide, add build and name it. In purchase order you add this 'general purchase order', 'early game', 'core' etc. Your 1st purchase order will be this big one with arrows, named GENERAL PURCHASE ORDER in my guide. If you add all items then just switch to 'skill sequence' tab and it looks exactly the same as in guide.
"When game is going full ******, you can only go with it. If you start going against it, if you start going half ******, you´re ****ing done for. When Aloha decides to go middle rubick you let him, and you start buying orb of venom on invoker. That's how dota works" -n0tail
