The more I'm stuck playing support; the more I continue to hate it. Not for the fact that I don't like playing said heroes; but because I am sick and tired of dealing with whiny carries and mids.

Finished my last game 4-13-27 on my shadow shaman. Our total kill count was 32. So I helped secure all but 5 kills. My ult was used to help bring down all but 3 towers. Yet I let our carry always get the last hit in on each tower.

I went out of my way; even suiciding myself so our carry could survive ganks. Spent any spare gold I had on potions early game to keep the carries health up in lane while still buying wards when ever they were off cooldown. Giving our carry everything he needed so come mid game; he would shine. Heck, our carry only died twice the whole game due to the other team literally blowing everything on him.

Yet all I hear from them is; stop feeding noob. It's fifteen minutes in and your still in brown boots; noob.

I even had to build up mech for our team cause we ended up with a dps jungling Natures Prophet as our 4th.

After the match was over; all my team were wanting the other team to help report me for feeding.

I know the 5th role support is supposed to be the *****. But seriously; I did more to help my team win than anyone else on my team. Not only that; but I did it with very little gear. Its days like this that I'd rather go back to playing off lane.

Ok rant off.

I play support very often too and yes, some people don't understand this role. We keep giving and giving to get insults back. You must find a team or at least a group of people a little skilled that will understand this role and will reward you if you play it good. How many hours did you spent playing this game?

90+% of Pub players are arseholes, find a good Team/Clan/Group of Friends because from what you're saying about your playstyle, you probably deserve to be in one.

Playing the 5 in anything lower than 4k mmr is a thankless job, usually due to your high farm roles being inexperienced. Most people rarely play a support because it offers no praise in pubs, thus they don't understand that you rely mostly on ambient gold and are constantly broke buying consumables like tangos and wards. I myself tend to stray away from playing supports in pub matches unless its someone I'm confident I can impact the midgame with, without assistance. A good way to have a positive impact on the game and at least not get blamed is to have Arcane Boots and actively filling your caster's mana pool even if you're full bar, and using smokes to gank, and constantly having a TP on you to rotate in against enemy tower dives. Its easy to blame your support if the only thing you see them doing is suiciding and placing an occasional ward, whereas if my support is actively with me and getting me income I can feel comfortable with a loss and thought it was a closer game. Communicating why you're doing something or are about to do something to them will also mellow their temper a bit, if you say something along the lines of "sorry I died but I didn't think you were gonna get away unless I distracted them" then the team sees what's going on. Don't be afraid to actively remind players to not overextend, if you think you're too far up then let your carry know you're backing up and they should too.

TLDR; Play active and communicate and you'll see praise.

I always play Support now. I was tired of picking a Carry, only for the rest of my team to pick carries too. Or worse, pick a character that should support only to find that they don't think that we need a courier or wards...It sounds like you did your job and played well. You have a commend from me! If your Carry doesn't like you rocking the brown boots, next time pick KotL, steal all his farm with your Illuminate skill, use Chakra Magic only on yourself to spam Illuminate, never ward (they don't notice nor appreciate when you do anyways) and pimp yourself out with mad items (Dagon lvl 5 to KS) because of all that extra gold you have. Surely they wont complain when you have more CS and better items than them. LOL. I am joking of course d;p - I like the above line, "Play active and Communicate". Well said. <3 from me when someone says TY for saving them, giving them my spare tangos or comments on all of my ward vision. Just keep up the good work man. GLHF. Lates.

I play support all the time, if u are good enough the thanks will just never stop flowing.
Though you will be matched up with idiot noobs playing hard carries, just keep him alive, hopefully he/she can right click.

Just finished this one, e1 though our weaver was a failure i kept my team alive to my best limit and we just won fight after fight with minimal losses.

Well one match I played today. I was Dark Seer support. Yet I ended with Skadi, Sheepstick, Radiance, BoT, Mech, and Divine.

God bless enemy Broodmothers. Game was pure troll though.
