Kyfoid, people will find it hard to take "game breaking strats" seriously if you are not running a 3-1-1 lane or a 2-1-1 jungle.

Also, the hero pool is not just carries and support. There is a wide range of roles:

Ganker, farmed support (4), initiator, nuker, farmless support (5), team fight, Hard carry (1), semi carry (2-3) and heros can fulfill multiple of these roles.

Just because axe is not a carry does not make him good late game. There are lots of heros like that. Magnus, Undying, Nyx, Rubic, Tide hunter are just a few examples.
My lone druid starting items are 12 Iron wood branches, 6 for the hero and 6 for the bear. Even if the bear does not get stats more twigs are OP on any hero.

Double stout shield stacks pretty well actually. It's great against physical harassment.

Can't you just get a Poor Man Shield?

I believe double Stout only increases the chance of damage block, not the actual amount blocked.

+1.
It increases the chance to 84% (theoretically), but the damage blocked is still 20/10.

Ok, I know that the whole axe with double boot + dark seer with force staff can be a really powerful method of melee initiation...

cast ion, force staff him in, cast surge on axe to keep him smacking the opponents back... or axe just uses his q, follows up with MoM, blah, blah blah.

as powerful as it is, been thinking about other combos like force staffing a centaur with ion shell who then stomps and then uses double edge, a follow up surge could also keep the centaur on the opponents heels.

This could also be useful for a ground slammer like brewmaster...

But then I thought about this combo...

Dark Seer + force staff and skeleton king...

This might actually be, conceptually, the most powerful team associated power in the game.

If double boots are potentially viable on axe, then they make twice as much sense on the Skeleton King. (Skeleton King jungles with Tranq + shield, initiation damage with phase)

The skeleton king just needs his basic shield for slight tank, and then it's all about attack speed and MS from there on out.

Sage and Yasha with the double boots is key to slowing enemies down in pursuits.

So skeleton king gets force staffed in to the opponents with ion shell on him, follow up surge is cast on him to keep him on the opponents heals, after surge is gone, SK phases to keep on opponents...

It's RIDICULOUSLY effective and powerful...

At the moment, I'm wondering how a blade mail might work in this....

Funny thing is, triple boots also work if you got the gold to spare for more IAS, he doesn't need crystalis or MoM with his LL and Crit.

Although, I think I heard that MoM LL stacks with his LL aura.

The craziest thing about all this is the SK might die being the initiator, but was so hard to kill with his LL and basic shield. With the MS, the Sk can actually get out of the area really quickly with the phase tranq, or phase boots of Travel combo...

All this on top of well timed and used stuns?

Blade mail?

Just disgusting.

Added: I wonder if Dark Seer could get Force Staff in to Rod of Atos to push ally in, slow them down with atos, and then at the end, surge....

I have an honest question for you. You might have explained it earlier, but I just want to know. What do you find wrong with a Blink Dagger for initiation? The cost?

Mana cost, no stats.

The shorter cooldown clearly represents that it is intended to be used on characters with lots of mana or regen.

Do melee strength heroes fit the bill?

Whats your issue with progressive speed enhancement?

Melee hero effectiveness is dictated quite heavily by speed when fighting ranged opponents, and many nubs love them some team ranged harassing focus fire.

fair fights make dark seer a necessity with a greater melee composed team.

If blink is bad why do people get it when playing in million dollar tournamates?

Further raising the question, if Tranquil + Phase is good why don't people get it when playing in million dollar tournaments?
