Valve Post

The Beta Is Over

July 9, 2013 - Dota Team

During a two year beta, Dota 2 grew to be the largest active community on Steam ever, with a monthly user base over 3 million users, and peak concurrent users of over 300,000. The feedback from these users has put Dota 2 in position to welcome everyone to come play, as we move from beta to launch.

Today, the Dota 2 Beta is over and the game is now available. Given the size of the Dota audience, the initial launch of the game will be done in waves. You can find all the details on how to join the Dota 2 community here.

Do people who own dota have to sign up again? It doesn't show that option for me. Also, do you keep your equipment and stats?

No, you don't have to sign up again, and you keep all your stats and items.

Actually, the link wasn't there when the blog was first released.
Pretty redundant of them to add it though, clicking the image leads to the same web address.

Hmm, I didn't know that. I added it anyway.

There's no harm in it, as he said, they obviously changed it.
I was just saying that I don't know why, its a redundant link.

Speaking of links, I got this from the Beta ending: Bloodstone

I wonder what its used for...

Notation about the Bloodstone:

Not Tradable or Usable in Crafting

I haven't played much, but I haven't seen any Item to be used in crafting!
Soooo is crafting, like in Team Fortress 2, coming to DotA2?

maybe instead of getting nothing form deleting items, we get 'Scrap' or something so that we can craft our own Set-Items?

I haven't heard anything about it for DotA2, or did I miss it at sometime?
Creative people behold!
