I have noticed in many competitive matches outworld devourer being picked. Whilst heavily countered by bkb, i guess people are starting to notice his power. What do you guys think?

OD is the strongest int-carry in the game, he hits for 300 pure damage per hit at level 25 with a bunch of items. A bkb is not that big of a counter to him as he can just astral himself wasting the opponents bkb for the most part.

I know that but he didn't get any major buffs recently (not even any kind of buffs i think). I remember the first time i saw him this year was by liquid, i think, and then he roflstomped everybody.

he hits for 300 pure damage per hit at level 25 with a bunch of items.

*300 extra pure damage :D

Somewhat squishy compared to some other carries, but he hits like a train midgame, and the pure damage makes him great against particular opponents. Great ulti too - he just can't afford to get locked down or focused.

He is a pain in the arse though in pub games when some scrub decides to open up with his astral in team fights... when your trying to focus people down.. but when he is played by the pros he melts faces

Especially because in pro matches he gets the levels and farm he needs.

He's a really strong mid as well, I hate to play against him, lol.

Any ideas of how to counter him tho in the laning stage? (none of that "everything works with proper team coordination teamwork bla blabla...")

The single thing that comes in my head is ganking.. Also, picking a non-intelligence hero to fight him on mid is a good thing. I always destroy him mid with a Kunkka.
