Upgrading to Tranquil Boots : costs 575 gold, gives sustain for you, a bit of MS, and nothing for your team

Urn of Shadows : costs 875 gold, gives sustain for your entire team, and gives 120 HP

Brown boots into urn >>> tranquils. Tranquils are just unnecessary.

In theory...but only if your team is ganking every few minutes and you're there to collect the charges. I'll get the Tranquils first - it's pretty easy to grab a piece here or there between the essentials and the MS is really important.

Like Chichi said - positioning is all you need on CM, but fast boots don't half help with that. Plus, plenty of sustain on you means ANY charges you get on the Urn you can dish out for your team.

My CM build practically every game is Tranquils -> Urn -> Glimmer -> Luxury/Theoretical (usually a Force or Ghost).

As for Lion - your boot choice is dictated by circumstances - if your team is allowing you enough farm to get Arcane Boots in good time, then great. Otherwise you have to compromise and live with Tranquils - again, you have great sustain then. At least if you can turn up for teamfights with a FULL mana pool rather than a big one that's half empty.

Point taken all the same - all Tranquil supports (KOTL, CM, LION, LICH) have great mana regen skills which allow them to forgo Arcanes, but they do tend to suffer from Mana pool limitations unless you can find another way of fixing it.

Agree with Sando.

If you're playing #5 support as lion, hope your other support buys arcanes and can help you out.

If you're playnig #4, I think it's okay to arcanes.

What do you guys think of Tranquils + Soul ring now?

Guess the old habits must die.
For me TB was mostly about armor not regen cause sth is supposed to protect you from physical damage early game and regen is not the thing tango and urn do that for you in early game. and about mana issues, I usually use mana drain right after spikes to get my mana back in team fights even a second of lvl 3 mana drain solves all of my mana issues. besides after TB nerf almost all #4 go for arcanes so the problem is already solved. (I just saw 4 pudges building arcanes today. Damn what is wrong with the world)
