Let's look at the relevant stuff.

Quoted:

* Slippers of Agility are no longer available in the Side Shop

Poor Man's Shield is essentially no longer a viable item.
Likely replaced by Stout Shield + Quelling Blade in every situation.

Quoted:

* Hurricane Pike recipe increased from 250 to 500
* Silver Edge recipe increased from 300 to 500

Tax on popular items. No surprise.

Quoted:

* Ghost Scepter cooldown reduced from 25 to 20

Total of 8 seconds of total physical immunity in a teamfight for a 1500 gold item.
Nothing to see here, just OSfrogzilla passing through.
Supports are definitely balanced in this game, no doubt about it.

Quoted:

* Sange and Yasha proc chance increased from 35% to 40%

Ironically a really good item, but only viable on ~2 heroes in the game. There aren't many melee carries who need chasing power.
Soo...play Troll Warlord?
Maybe it can be good on Lone Druid in a hybrid melee build as well.

Quoted:

* Monkey King: Spring winding up sound effect can be heard by nearby enemies

Pretty anti-fun. People probably won't channel it now.

Quoted:

* Magnus: Base attack time increased from 1.7 to 1.8
* Magnus: Reverse Polarity cooldown increased from 120/110/100 to 120

Kind of a **** move really.

Quoted:

* Nature's Prophet: Level 15 Talent changed from +35 Movement Speed to +4 Treants Summoned

"Attack of the trees" build can be pretty overwhelming. In fact, it's good in any build, and always superior to the 20 INT.
I checked, Sprout makes 8 trees, so you WILL get 8 treants from a sprout cast.
The Desolator/ Assault Cuirass tower wrecking build on Furion sounds pretty good as well. Even T3 towers are only at 20 armor, which makes only 8 with deso/AC.
Bulldog will be proud.

Quoted:

* Broodmother: Insatiable Hunger lifesteal increased from 60/90/120% to 60/100/140%
* Broodmother: Insatiable Hunger damage increased from 60/90/120 to 60/100/140

Buffing Brood because "muh pub winrate too low" or "not in the meta"?
Terrible reason and completely unwarranted, but I'm not complaining.

Quoted:

* Lich: Chain Frost cooldown reduced from 120/90/60 to 100/80/60

And Lich keeps getting buffed behind the scenes and nobody takes notice. Always an underrated hero IMO.

Quoted:

* Bristleback: Quill Spray AoE increased from 625 to 650

No, OSfrog, that's not how you do it. Let me advise you.
- Bristleback quill procs are no longer disabled by Break, only damage reduction is. When under Break, Bristle's quill procs trigger when hit from ANY side, not just the back.
or
- Bristleback is no longer disabled by Break.
or
- Break removed from the game.

That is how you do it.

You're too quick with conclusions about Poor Man's Shield.

Start with 2 slippers and buy the shield from side shop?

= 585 gold

Meh. Not garbage but really not great either.

Maybe that's because I'm such a huge fan of Quelling Blade, I don't know.

Maybe aggressive carries can still go for the PMS rush. MK, Ember, Riki, why not.
Even on Naga there's no point in going PMS over quelling/stout.

You definitely don't start with double socks to get a PMS. Mids still get it as a starting item, and you can still get socks via courier - it will be much later but the item will still remain relevant.

Never said double socks was good, after all I was the one saying the item sucked now :)

Fair enough, mid MK or Ember can still start with PMS+Tango.

Really not a fan on safelaners tho.

PMS was being picked up on literally every melee core, and made zoning offlaners basically impossible - especially Centaur and Under****. What this change does is make it harder to get the item for the first ~3 minutes of the game, allowing offlaners to be zoned considerably harder. It's a nerf to the offlane mainly, since as I said mids will get it as a starting item usually.
There are two kinds of people in the world; those who can count, and those who can't.

Sorry for the derail, but as someone who got inspired to try Brood by reading your guide about her, do you plan on updating it with the talents and whatnot?

Not a fan of updating in general but I did it just for you <3

Talent build is a no-brainer for level 10 and 25. XP and +8 webs are just a million times better than the other options.

Level 15 cooldown reduction might seem appealing but at the end of the day Brood's item build has no survivability built in so the health is better.

And level 20 depends on whether you want a blitzkrieg spiderling game or late game carry potential.
...but you play Brood for the blitzkrieg push anyways, don't you? XD

Bulldog begs to differ.

Or maybe it was a kappa123 theorycrafting, I'm pretty sure 70 ias is better than muh spiders either way.

You mean the guy who skills Spin Web at level 3 and has no Soul Ring at minute 5, and gets zoned out by a dual lane because he has no spiderlings? XD
You mean the guy who doesn't skill ult at 6 against a solo Axe, and ends up losing a 1v1 lane and awkwardly trying to catch up in the jungle afterwards with his 10 minute midas and being a wallflower the whole game?

Bulldog is my lord and savior when it comes to his 2 hero pool and Weaver.
But seriously...his Brood... EleGiggle :)

Spiders buff literaly *doubles* spiderling DPS. Even more for spiderites, which are the main damage source.
The push potential is insane.

The whole point of Brood is really to take a lane of rax at the 25 minute mark. That's the strength of the hero.

Sure, if the blitzkrieg fails or if the enemy team has massive counterpush you can fall back on the carry build, but that's plan B.
