Hopefully this community can interact under the game client Dota 2 will be running under, so this will bring us together a bit more. Purpose of the group: Give non Steam-users help with anything regarding Steam or Dota 2. It will function primarily as this community does, however once the game hits, we could potentially have a group of people already grouped up and ready to hop in with a group instead of treading through by yourself. If you're a Dota veteran this may just be a walk in park, transitioning from that bulky Warcraft 3 engine to the new-and-improved Dota 2, however to many of the people new to the game, it will offer the ability to already have a coach/mentor of sorts. Giving a good overview of champions, their builds, and all the commonly asked questions here, however in the game right there (virtually) next to them in game.

If you don't have a steam account yet, what are you waiting for!?! Sign up! http://store.steampowered.com/

If the group reaches a decent number I will be looking for admins to help with the group! Also looking for:

-Someone to design a group logo, like the DOTAFire logo but a higher resolution one. (I can't find one)

-Some people willing to coach new players to the community in-game if the group reaches that point.

This shall now be the official thread of the Steam group, good luck, players!

Also this group could be used to play some more familiar games with other members of the community, like Team Fortress 2, etc. Primarily revolves around Dota 2, of course though. ^^

Finally!

I think this could be perfect for new players and competitive players because you can easily go in a group chat and ask for a scrim/ask for tips on a hero (build etc) or just talk about the game in general. I'll make sure to join when I get on tomorrow.

A great idea. As im new to dota this could be really helpful, and to other new people as well.

10 strong now, hopefully we will spike in members as Dota 2 edges closer to release. Really, we need an admin over here on this site, one that at least drops in every now-and-again at least to keep up with the database. It has said "new" under database since the internationals.

Edit: Just went on MOBAFire and gave a PM to an admin about the updating issue. Hopefully he will stop by and pay us a visit.

Joined. :) It's too bad we're only eleven strong at the moment... You'd think that having a DotA 2 button on MOBAfire's front page would draw in more people?

15 strong at the moment, actually!

Just thought I would share some new with you guys: I talked the Matt the other day (the main administrator and head of all the MOBAFire, DOTAFire, etc. sites) about how this site had been left out of date for far too long. He is currently working on a database overhaul here trying to get things in order, add new heroes, all that good stuff, and I will be given a "special title" to help with the database when it needs it. So sometime soon this place should be rolling again! Be sure to thank Matt if he comes around here, he's been really nice!
