I have to agree Smuggels, game does seem to have been excessively bad at the moment. Lots of DC problems I've never had before on the new system, but the player base seems even worse than usual:

- Lot of games stuck as the 5th player with 4 stack. You get no comms or response all game, then blamed loudly by everyone on your team for not being psychic.

- Pretty much had to pick #1's last two games. Would be fine but you get left with a horrific lane and zero support. Like the supports are actively destroying your farm and leaving you to die. Warding is non-existant. But KOTL got his Octarine Core before the end...shame he was the only one on the team with any farm...

- Mouthy, horrible team mates. I expect salt, I have a thick skin. When you've played really well as the solo support, bought everything all game, and your mid goes MENTAL because you recalled the courier he was sending to certain death at the secret shop (you literally just saw 2 enemies there on the mini-map). I will say at least my team mates were supportive in this one.

Doesn't do a lot for your desire to play. Great game, ****py players.

There's a lot of things that could be done easily to prevent griefing. I think it's really a shame that it hasn't been implemented already :

- The "buy courier" button now has a 2 minute cooldown (how easy is that?)

- Muting a teammate also gives an option to *mute his pings on the map*. Excessive use of map pings is now detected automatically and anyone doing it gets a temporary ban. Ping abuse is really getting out of hand.

- Toss, Relocate, Recall and similar skills now give free pathing to teammates when they are moved to unpathable locations.

- I completely agree with removing low priority and replacing it with bans. Low priority is like prisons in real life where you put lots of criminals together in the same room and you expect something good to come out of it. Low priority actually encourages griefing because of course people aren't going to play normal dota in a low prio match, the only way to play low prio is actually to grief, AFK or whatever. Ban people for a few days, and increase the ban duration for each successive ban, up to several months.

- Randoming is now disabled in ranked. No, seriously. The whole point of dota is that you should pick a hero that fills a specific role, and if you random you can't do that. Randoming has no place in a tryhard mode.

And guys, I find nothing funny about griefing...it's really sickening and makes you want to quit the game.

Im glad someone is on the same boat as me on the courier problem. Courier is an item, not a feature, so you dont make it 'One Per Player'. Making it stock based is more reasonable than limiting one per player.

Also guys... As someone on the sub 2k bracket, I have barely seen a griefer. Strange if the griefers only exist in the post 3k bracket.

In case of displacing skills, just disable help.

I think you're underestimating trolls. For example they have stopped trolling with KOTL and wisp and they're trolling with Tiny now. Why? Because Toss isn't affected by disable help.

Besides, by the time where you can use disable help, it's probably too late, you're already stuck on a cliff with a guy doing courier air defense around you.

They're evolving!

I think if you're in a situation where your team mate is trying to troll/throw that hard, you're screwed regardless of what you do. Even if they can't piss you off as much, they can just feed anyway.

Not sure what the solution is really. Low priority ingrains bad habits. Bans just mean they have to use a different account (it's free to play anyway) and these people probably already have smurfs.

My preferred solution would be a silenced Glock G17 to the back of the head, but life isn't fair sometimes :)

Feeding gets boring after a while though. Griefing only exists because they want to piss you off and watch your reaction, if they can't do that it'll just die down.
Like, if the guy gets muted by his whole team, and can do nothing but feed himself without getting any of his teammates angry...he'll just look like an idiot.
And griefers are relly unimaginative people. Always the same tricks, so easy to remove them.

BTW for God's sake prevent Treant Protector from buying Quelling Blade because of his moral code or something. QB tree in the safe lane makes me want to kill people :)

As long as reports can be abused(i.e 4 stack matched with one player that doesn't obey all the things they say) and there isn't a system that determines whether a player is a trustworthy and proper player of just a **** and report spammer, they should not lead to any serious consequences.

Group deal last pick is the ****tiest thing ever, I'm not even going to explain why because it's obvious, you can't expect it to be implemented and you know that.

High ms players may be a problem in SEA/AU?US servers, here in EU it's just a minor annoyance(unless you are the high ms player ofc), but what about guys with weak internet who get high ping even on their home server?

If the things suggested here get implemented my dota-life would improve considerably. 25% of the time I am stuck in the lpq because my college internet sucks.

I think that no matter what game you play, or what restrictions you place, you can't get rid of trolls.

When you play DotA, you automatically sign a waiver form saying "I accept that there will be trolls, and griefers"

It's just life.
